Eggplant guy and a tree... oh, the possibilites.

Um....

Not quite sure what to say about this one. Very nice hand-drawn comic, just a very bizzare storyline. Not quite sure what was so humourous about it... maybe it's just me.

A little too slow there mario...

Sorry dude, I tried sitting through this and it was just moving too damn slow. Speed up the pace, fix some spelling errors, and you might be on to something good.

It matters much

Ian,

This was a great flash that you created. Two unlikely characters (perhaps the kind people understand the least - Goths), portray a different side underneath the trenchcoats, industrial metal and black makeup. And that is love.

Within the first few seconds of hearing Third Eye Blind's "How's It Gonna Be" the last thing I expected to see was a photo of two goths basking in the sunshine. My first reaction was, "you're kidding, right?" At first I was a little biast towards the norm, but still I watched. As the scene unfolded I found myself slowly being drawn into their situation. The song that played I remembered from my high school days when I had found myself lost without love. Although I was not a goth, I many ways I was misunderstood. Guess you can call it the artist's curse :) . This flim was a flashback for me... as I'm sure it was to many people. And that's the key! I doesn't just apply to any particular person of any race or society, it is the universal language that so many people take years to learn to speak, and perhaps even longer to find someone to communicate with.

On the techincal side, the animation was well drawn, the characters were unique (the block eyes I've never seen before), and overall everything flowed with song perfectly. A flash project that was very well done indeed. I hope to see more from you in the future Ian, its nice to find an artist who has a warming story to tell once in a while, lord knows we could use one once in a while.

The best of luck in your future projects Ian. Don't stop writing !!

Porno Creep

I do remember that song... off my one and only favorite Korn album. It was a good album.

Anyways, I really liked your animation. The artwork is unique in and of itself, I tend to lean more towards darker animations, just because they require a little more thought (most of the time) than your average comedic animation. While it was pretty short for most flashes, that doesn't botch the score at all. This looks like a very promising piece of your future work to come.

You can bet i'll be looking out for it, so keep it coming !

Cannibal Corpse wannabees = blam points

Honestly,

Is that audio bullshit really considered music ? I could jack off into a microphone and make better sound than they do. or you do. Or whoever the fuck it is, doesn't matter.

your flash and your music sucks balls.

Crazy bloodthirsty french people...

And for some reason, I thought paris was the city of love.

I'm never going there if a bunch of mentally disturbed teenage girls pop out with knives and kill me :)

There have been a few films I have viewed on newgrounds dealing with some sort of abnormality (family related and not), set to music. One great film that stuck in my head was by Luis Ruiz (I think that's his name) and dummy me I can't remember the name of it, but it involves a family gone sour when a father suddenly becomes violent to his wife and child, and after years of abusing them he finally breaks loose and winds up killing his wife in the process. The child, torn by his violent nature and pushed to the limit by the death of his mother, clubs his father to death with a baseball bat as a grand climax to a supposedly perfect family. All set to the Deftones' "Change in the house of flies". A masterpiece that hasn't left me to this day.

Films in this category are rare, some are good, and some aren't. I have to say your artwork is EXCELLENT. No doubt about it. You definetely have a style all your own. While comparing you to Luis may be a little unequal seeing as he is a veteran flash artist here on NG, there are few films of this type that come to mind. With Luis' film, there was a connection built between the viewer and the artist from frame one. Few films out there have that inherint quality.

I didn't feel the same connection here. The reason being, while Luis' work fell into a serious drama category, yours fell more into the category of shock. I didn't see a girl crying out for help here. I saw a person with a sexual mental defect. A very strange and violent psychosis involving self mutilation for "pleasure" (not for the release of pain mind you). When she commited suicide at the end, I felt no sorrow. I was unmoved. I was actually glad she did.

Just a bad seed that needed to be buried I suppose.

Not what i expected at all... as for the music... no comment.

Ninjas attacked my office !

Not a bad flash really, I did enjoy it.

Ninjas always have a way of making one smile. Especially when they pop out of nowhere and lop some guy's head off.

(Very Nice blood animations by the way :D )

Short, but original. the death animation was pretty clunky, and the song was really low quality, but other than that, its not bad for a start. Just up the quality in a few areas and continue the epic saga of office slashing.

Morgues were never like this...

Well Zeke,

I never thought a morgue had so much..... personality..... ?
I'll have to say you have some great artistic talent, and you definitely have a style all your own. The mixture of bizzare images with the 60's ish sound (were those job training videos or something?), was a little awkward, but fitting for what you accomplished. If you scrapped the 60's dialogue, and replaced it with some downright delerious stuff, (maybe made a couple scenes more graphically intense) you could have pulled off a truly twisted film following in the footsteps of David Firth (e.g. Salad Fingers). This is merely an observation, not a criticism.

All in all, I found the film to be more humourous than eerie, and that was a pleasant surprise! I really hope to see more from you in the future! Good luck in all your flash pursuits !

Why do people always want everything to look like everything else?

Thanks for the review

A scottsman named Gomez ?! Please...

I haven't seen the first Gomez, and judging from this one, I really don't want to. The sound is a mish mash of crappy quality songs and poorly recorded vocals, the story is just lame, and it lacks any kind of value whatsoever. It's just very amateur.

My advice... If you're going to do your own vocals get a decent mic (not a crappy computer mic), and then grow some chest hair. There's no doubt in my mind you're 14. And for crying out loud, when selecting your music at least make sure all the songs are at least 96 bit or higher, and that they all have the SAME bit-depth. Mixing bit depths sounds like an ocean liner careening down 5th avenue.

This is the second bad entry that involved songs by Green Day.
I think I'm seeing a pattern here.

decent anime tutorial... i guess.

Not a bad tutorial.

It was easy to follow, the music wasn't too engaging (I didn't really see green day as being an inspiration for anime, but that's just me), nevertheless, it beats the hell out of britney spears.

The only thing I wish your tutorial could include more of is the idea and craft behind drawing anime. A more in depth look of how the anime character differs from your run of the mill animation, and maybe a lesson or two in just 3 dimensional character drawing as well.

For being a tutorial, it was nifty. If you plan on making another one (if you haven't already), definitely lay down the law on how drawing anime is done, and you could have an art lesson that could be archived here for future flash artists !

Just a thought. Keep it up !
