West Island.... what's on east island ?

West Island, a place I wouldn't care to visit.

A very brief flash that might have had a better chance if it weren't so short (and maybe if the dolphin was explained).

This flash has some potential, so here's my advice for further installments of west island.... write more content !

Better luck next time.

Freak with no leash !!!

Freak has to be the most engaging and graphically beautiful work I've ever seen since the series, "Bitey of Brackenwood" by Adam Phillips. Hell, it's probably exceeded every other mature title here on newgrounds !

And where to start.... the graphics are unbelieveable. Although not a truly 3D environment, the psuedo-3D is very convincing, and the cell shading (something I've never seen in flash) is just downright awesome. Freak just bleeds style, one that can't be mimicked by any other flash artist on newgrounds.

The voicework is very nicely done, in a very film noir style, ala Max Payne. Very cool :) The violence isn't too over the top, but it's just harsh enough (such as the scene where the scientist's son gets a clawed fist punched through his heart) to make one wince and say, "God that hurt"! And to top it all off, it's based off of a story by White Wolf, the same man who brought us Vampire the Masquerade. Can it get any better?!

Yes it can. After watching parts 1 and 2, the storyline is still going strong. I can see this turning into a full blown series in the coming months. Finally, a flash series that won't let you down !

Guys, GREAT JOB on Freak ! Can't wait to see the next chapter in this chilling mystery!

Two thumbs, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay UP !

Ahnold....

Coolbob,

I was reading the reviews of a certain Madsniper... anyways, he's a complete moron. Don't listen to him. He has no idea what the heck he's talking about. His comments are immature and childish, and he would be better off getting sniped himself.

Now with that out of the way, a little critiquing :)

1. What's with the detachable penis? Definitely not a cool feature, I'd like mine to stay where it is.

2. Toilet humour is a little gross... probably not the best choice of laughs. (postal 2 humour via Gary Coleman)

3. Random acts of violence are funny sometimes... especially the "playa" stereotype... loved that part

4. Overall, just a bizzare flash... animation wasn't too hot...

Anyways, not a terrible flash, but could be better. Practice a bit more on your graphics. Late !

p.s. don't take everything so personally. If you let everyone's lame comments get to you, you'll only get yourself dug in a rut. Keep your chin up, laugh it off. Good luck !!

I like Hank

Woah !

What an original flash! I've never seen anything like it! This is probably one of the most original flash movies I've seen in quite a while. Your characters Hank and Delia are both very unique, and the portrayal of the song through your characters (and some nicely shot backgrounds) is just plain cool. Not even really violent, just a nice medley of music and art intertwined into an original story of betrayal.

Well Done !

Great Star Wars Flash !

However Cajun,

I don't think George Lucas would approve. Much too gory....

That's why we have newgrounds :)

Great animations (I can see them improving immensely in the future!) and great voice-overs! Your emperor impression sounds damn near the real thing, and while you are no James Earl Jones, with a little audio tweaking your Darth Vader could sound even more authentic!

Overall, great flash. I really hope to see more of your work in the future.

And by the way, I agree. Veronica Zemenova is absolutely freaking gorgeous! Thanks for the pics !

Tink Tink Boom

Well kid,

I guess that's not bad for someone who's 10. Like a previous reviewer said, you really shouldn't be on here in the first place (lots of whacked out stuff on here not for kiddies) but as long as you're posting slapstick comedy, that's cool. Not bad for a first try, just keep practicing and post your next project in the future. And stay out of all the "obscene" flashes, ok?

Good Luck !

Numa Numa nothing new ma

Numa Numa.

If I never heard the words Numa Numa again for the rest of my life, I'd die a happy man. Newgrounds craze, or internet phenomenon, whatever it is, I hope it dies quickly.

This flash was nothing new or interesting to me. The Hitler dancing figure (probably all the other ones as well.... actually probably all the animation) was ripped from a different author(s)..... well, probably not ALL of it. Maybe just all the humour.

Regardless, I give this thing a big old 1 for absolute un-originality.

I pray numa numa and the bastard that wrote the song die in an uspeakably terrible car crash.

JereazEnterprises responds:

Okay, first of all, I have to say that you are an incredibly negative person with no humor at all.

The dancing sprites were NOT ripped off other authors, but made by my close friend, Ryu Phoenix.

I don't really care what you vote, because I care nothing of you.

Death of Innocence

Mr. Firth,

There is so much unerlying content in this particular flash (whether intended or not for humour or insight, it's still there), it's difficult to judge. I've viewed all your other flashes, and your flash style is very unique. Your artwork is unmistakeable, your voice-overs are nicely done, and the music is fitting (for whatever twisted scenario is at hand). Your talent is undeniable. Your point of view, I'm not so sure of. So far I've seen toast boy (strange little boy in a bizzare world, severe schizophrenic condition) Salad Fingers (a twisted classic, always bizzare and sometimes horrific, most original character i've seen) and lastly Milkman (Serial killer / necrophiliac.... very disturbing.....). This flick touches a different tangent that was slightly hinted at in Milkman, and briefly in a Salad Fingers episode. Its so very obvious that I'll just be blunt, its outright pedophilic. I didn't find it very amusing, just because that particular subject matter shouldn't be a target for dark humour. There's nothing funny about it.

We were all innocent once, and everyday some twisted human being continues the vicious cycle of child abuse that has plagued so many people. Perhaps all we can do sometimes is sit back and laugh at this disgusting shit hole we live in. What concerns me the most are the people out there who review this and thought it was hilarious. That is truly sick. Pedophilia is perhaps the only dark medium that modern entertainment hasn't touched.... but the way our world is crumbling I wouldn't be surprised if it started to happen.

Hope you actually get to read this one Mr. Firth, I'd like your two cents on the subject.

And for the rest of you out there that think this stuff is genuine comedy material..... BURN IN HELL.

Star Bars.... what a concept

Not much to say on this one. Funny storyline, interesting form of flash.... not to bad I suppose. Just an average flash to me.

A Horse of Course !

Butterscotch is just damn awesome.

The slightly scottish accent really gives the narrative some flare (as well as the hilarious whinny in the background) the sudden headshot is completely ironic and unexpected, making it absolutely hilarious. The animation and characters are very well drawn, and the coming of Butterscotch's ghost reminds me of A Christmas Carol ( a little creepy at that).

All in all, great animation, and very original ! Hope to see more of butterscotch in the future ! (.... maybe you could ressurect him or something :)
